My Last Day

Thank you all so much for making my time at Power extra specially amazing! I really can't tell you in words just how much I enjoyed teaching you all! I rant on and on to my friends and family constantly about how much I love this class and want to teach you forever and ever! Heh, I think I bragged about you guys to all of my university professors.

I wanted you to know that I meant every word that I said on Friday. I had been praying about our meeting for months before I met all of you, and God has exceeded all of my prayers and expectations with this class.

Each of you are so special to me and have touched my heart in unique and different ways. I have bazillions of memories that I’ll bring with me into all of my endeavors.

You’ve taught me a plethora of lessons on what it means to be a teacher. I know I have a long way to go before I become the educator I want to be, but I know that the experiences I gained in our class have catapulted me towards that goal.

Watching you guys in action during class, seeing the wheels of your minds churning as you ask difficult and probing questions caused me to get even more excited about the material and every night I went home, wondering how I could make the lessons exciting and thought provoking. Im not sure if you learned anything during my lessons, but I know I sure learned tons!
(especially since as a biology student, we don’t study human anatomy, so everything I taught you guys I had to learn, or re-learn from my high school days)

Many times during the weeks I was with you, I doubted myself as an educator, and thought I wasn’t cut out for this job. I can’t tell you just how much your encouragement meant to me. I think I told you this in class, but I’ve got something called social anxiety… in other words? Im scared of people. Lol, could you tell?
Honestly, I was nauseous the entire first weeks of my placement. I thought I was going to hurl at the beginning of this month while teaching…
You guys were so warm and inviting and I felt right at home ☺

This is going to sound cheesy, but I mean this. With Christ, you CAN do anything you put your mind to. (Phil 4:13). Hey, if I can get up in front of a class and actually get material across and have you understand it without projectile vomiting, then you can become rocket scientists and neurosurgeons and Pediatricians and Supreme Court Justices and actresses and everything you want to be.

Don’t forget that God is shaping and molding you into the men and women that He wants you to be. Everything that happens, every hardship you have to endure is producing perseverance, character and hope in you (Romans 5:1-11, James 1:2-12, Heb12:1-13).

My prayer for you is that you’ll grow and develop a strong and personal relationship with Jesus, and learn to trust Him in all situations. I know that He’s got HUGE plans for all of you (Jeremiah 29:11).

May the God of hope fill you with all Joy and Peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the Power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13).

I love you all and you will continually be in my prayers.

Seriously, I want to know how you ALL are doing, so drop me a line. If you have any questions about anything, even University applications or life questions, anything, don’t hesitate to write to me. ☺

Keep on shinin! (phil 2:15)
